Dr. Baning is an experienced counselor with diverse spiritual and ethnic backgrounds. He has been a member of Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Black, White, Latino, African and other multiracial churches. Due to this association with believers of diverse faith, he has gained a deep understanding of how certain doctrine and cultural backgrounds influence a person: spiritually, mentally, emotionally and relationally. This insight helps him to counsel people of diverse faith in their journey towards wholeness in Christ by the power of The Holy Spirit, The Bible, integration of Psychology and Science when needed.
His extensive studies and ministry around the world have given him a deep understanding and appreciation of the languages and culture of the people he counsels. These diverse cultural backgrounds, coupled with his multilingual talents (English, Spanish, French and many African languages) also help him gain great insight into the relational and psychological dynamics of people of diverse ethnic backgrounds.
Dr. Baning is man of God with a deeper walk with The Lord Jesus Christ. He has been involved in ministry since the age of nine. He ministers in the healing and prophetic anointing. ADMONITION: Please do not suffer alone. Some people think that going to a counselor is a sign of weakness or being less spiritual. Not at all! It means you are wise, healthy and truthful. You do not live in self-deception. You therefore seek help when your load becomes more than you can handle. Christ Himself did not seek help only from His Father but also asked His disciples to keep Him company in time of excruciating pain in Gethsemane. We are called to bear one another's burden. Some Christians suffer alone because of the fear of rejection from church members. They believe that when they find out about what they struggle with individually or as a couple they will be judged or ostracized. But the truth is, today every abominable sin in the world is hidden in the church; from rape to abortion to incest, to marital abuse to pornography, to name a few.. Why can't we sincerely approach the Throne of Grace with an open face to seek help in time of need?
It is time to be real with our struggles and cry out to God and ask well-meaning Christians for help. No wonder quite a significant number of Christians today suffer from some form of mental illness, which goes undiagnosed for years. Please do not get me wrong, counseling and medication are not the only solutions to your problem; they are very much needed at times for a person to function well in all aspects of his/her life, but they help to some extent. There is only One Counselor and Healer to help you: The Holy Spirit but God has placed trained, caring and compassionate people in the Body to come alongside those who suffer and struggle in this life. Jesus said in this life we will have many troubles but we must take heart for He has overcome the world.
There are Christians who think when you become a Christians. Sure, God forgives us for all our confessed sins we sincerely repent from. But sin has a consequence on the soul, the spirit is saved but the soul is still in the process of sanctification. That is why Papa Dios says we must work out own salvation of the soul with fear and trembling hands. Why? Because these areas of our past bondages; become entry ports for the enemy into our “Psuche” (mind, emotion and will) then to the body and lastly the spirit. Sometimes, Christians think a born again sanctified person cannot be demonically oppressed or oppressed. That is not true, as I said the spirit in us is saved but the weak areas of our soul (mind, emotion, will, style of relational dynamic) the enemy continues to try to get to the spiritual being within by trying to defile the body which is the temple of God.
Some Christian use "over spiritualization" as a defense mechanism or “Defensive Hope,” but the devil knows the difference between a real Christian at heart and one going through emotions or legalistic ritualism. God says, you shall know the Truth and the Truth will set you free. On the first level that "knowing" is cultivation of an intimate relationship with Christ who is the ultimate Truth.
On the second level the word "Truth" in Greek is (your) "reality as it stares in your face." It takes a lot of courage to look at the reality of our past, accept it, acknowledge it and bring that area, which maybe childhood abuse before The Father for healing. Oh, but my friend, fear not! He has promised never to leave you nor forsake you. He has been waiting for you all this time.
He knows the struggle already; even if you angry with Him write Him a letter and read it to Him. He is not afraid of your anger towards Him. He bears your pain also nd it hurts Him to see his precious children suffer while their deliverance, freedom, healing and abundant joy was paid for fully on the Cross. The Abba Father is waiting to receive you, heal your mind, restore your broken heart, remove the shame and condemnation and the secret besetting sin ruling over your life.
As you take this baby steps with mustard seed of faith like the prodigal son and the woman with the issue of blood, He will make a way for your healing. He run to reach the prodigal son, restored his lost mind, dressed him up put his ring back on him (symbol of restoration); put the Holy Ghost garment on him and it was dancing time. God says He will turn your ashes into beauty and turn your mourning into dancing. He says in the book of Joel: what the cankerworm, palmerworm, the caterpillar and locust have eaten He will restore it to you in a double portion!
My good friend, do you know what that means? It means whatever you lost within very decade of your life He will restore in double portion. If that means He needs to elongate your years so that you can enjoy this lost life, He will do it; believe me He will make you live a longer life over 80-120 years to make it up to you. He is a Good God that loves and care for every pain and tears you have cried alone for too long. But God says the tears are kept in a bottle in His Presence. Papa Dios is just waiting for you to arise like the woman with the issue blood.
Can you imagine how weak and shameful she might have felt, not to talk about her boldness to touch a Rabbi? Tell how amidst this multitude this woman was able to get to Jesus without being pushed down and trampled upon? Your Heavenly Father knows His precious daughter was coming, so He made a way for her to touch Jesus. She never knew she had a Father who is the Greatest Physician: "Daughter, your faith has healed you" Precious daughter/son of the Most High God will you please arise and sing " Pass me not by gentle Savior" as this woman did. The Father has already made a way for you; He will put human angels and His divine angels to help you through this journey of healing of the soul.
There is a safe place where you will not be judged, slapped with scriptures, counseled to stay in abuse, told to pray more, fast more, read your Bible more and you will be just fine. Both can one just repent, confess his/her sins, and then everything will be just fine. Friends that is not true! There is more to it than that. We are not only spiritual beings but we are spirit, soul and body.
The Human soul, which is the (Mind, Emotion and the Will) also gets sick just as the body and it may need healing from The Lord. Why do Christians go to a physician of the body, but will not go to a physician of the soul? The Great Physician of the soul is Our Lord Jesus Christ! He alone can heal. He only requires that we will be honest with ourselves and come to Him and present our wounded soul to Him for healing by faith.
Jesus asked the man by the pool of Bethsaida, "Do you want to be well?" Do you want to be well today? There are different kinds of sufferers: those who are used to their pain, those who need help but do not even know they need help (ignorance), those who are misguided by false application of the theology of suffering, those who are aware of their self destructive mental and emotional habits but are afraid to face the pain and those who tell themselves the truth that they need help but do not know where to go. The Word "Psychopathology" (psuche pathologia in the Greek) ; means a disease of the soul (psycho means soul, pathology means disease). If believers also suffer from disease of the soul just as they suffer from the body, then does it not make sense to seek the help of a true Christian Counselor who is trained to treat the soul just as a medical doctor will treat diseases of the body? Why is such a compassionate ministry left in the hands of unbelievers? Please l am not advocating Christian Counseling as a solution for our soul diseases. l know this is a therapy culture, and with the help of technological advancement sin is increasing at a faster rate and many worldly counselors and so the called "Christian counselors" are enriching their pockets from human suffering and consequences of sin.
The truth is, Man is reaping the wages of sin that he is sowing into the soul, marriage and family. But the greater Truth is, only Christ can heal, deliver and restore you completely but be honest and be bold not to suffer alone any longer because there are compassionate people who care for you. They pray for you always and are waiting to help you in this journey of healing so that you can serve Christ and others with a healthy spirit and a healthy soul (mind and emotions). That is the authentic Christian whose struggles and healing lead him to worship God like Job " Though He slayed me yet will l praise Him" (always) Amen!
God has a plan and purpose for your life but the devil is trying to hold you back with these bondages. My friend, do not allow the devil to stop you from fulfilling your purpose because of your struggles. Jesus bought your deliverance and healing on the Cross! Why do you continue to allow the devil to steal it from you? Healing (mental, emotional, physical and relational) is the children's bread!
I am sorry for being a little preachy here but sometimes the preacher within rises up to impart healing, deliverance, restoration of HOPE to the precious children of God.
If you are looking for Christian Counseling, ask The Holy Spirit to lead you to a compassionate person with a deeper walk with The Lord. One who exudes the character of Christ and when you sit with him/her for a few minutes you will feel the acceptance and love of The Lord, no matter what or how your struggle has been; one that will impart hope into your soul! Some therapist believes these diseases can only be cured through medication. I disagree, from my experience, an eclectic approach that involves wholistic family systems, psycho-spiritual, psycho-social, psychopharmacology approach works better.. The root causes of these mental illnesses are diverse. It could be from the family of origin, childhood sexual abuse, ritualistic abuse, use drugs such as marijuana, LSD, praying around with horoscope ouiji boards, palm reading, Yoga, Chanting, transdental meditation, hypnosis, santeria, voodoo, satanic worship, listening to certain diabolical worldly music, practice of certain pagan religion etc. Involvement in some of these activities opens the doors to the demonic realm. For instance, people who have used Ecstasy could communicate with the dead
My friend, you see the devil so is sleek; he looks at the age and manufactures something that will help him gain control and possession of the mind (the human soul). In the ancient days, people used these drugs with huhudious music to contact the dead. He has not changed, he is still the same, but he changes his approach according to the culture and the times. Satan, being the worship leader who was thrown down from heaven is still jealous of worship and has opened many temples (clubs) for his worship where people go to give their offerings, take these drugs as communion and open their souls to him. Use of illicit Drugs, Immoral Sex and Witchcraft are the trio the devil uses the most as altar calls for the possession of his victims.
My friend you can still be a Christian and still be plagued in these areas because of your past involvement. You need to be delivered from such bondage.
Deliverance Counseling and Spiritual Warfare Counseling: Some psychological, mental problems, addictions, eating disorders, anorexia, bulimia, suicidal ideation, sexual perversion, uncontrollable sexual fantasies, sexual lust, Internet porn, pornography, pedophilia, promiscuity, prostitution, masturbation, homosexualism, lesbianism, addicted to immoral sensual dressing, cross dressing, addicted to seduction, sexual obsession, fetishes, improper sexual acts, addicted to a particular person and many other bondages are caused by demonic spirits. If a person gives his/her will over to these sins they fall into bondage. One cannot blame these demons because he/she yielded the will to them. In such a case of bondage, a person may need deliverance from these spirits that hold him/her in bondage in order to be free.
Then go on to develop healthy biblical lifestyle that will keep him/her free in Christ.
Deliverance from demonic oppression, mental, emotional and physical torment, nightmares, repeated troubling dreams with sexual content (caused by demon spirits of sucubus and incubus: these are sexual demons that come to rape a person in their sleep). It may seem strange to you but it is real, the devil is wicked. Demonic spirits may have attached themselves to a person through the family of origin, pornography, rape, prostitution, promiscuity, abortion, occult involvement, palm reading, ouiji boards, psychic, witchcraft, voodoo, santeria, new age, tm, ritual abuse, halloween, satanic festivals, drug use, heavy metal, sensual music, violent videos games etc.
A lot of Christians think when you become born again these things of the past do not haunt you anymore. No, sometimes you need deliverance as a born again spirit filled believer. The devil is a legalist and you need to renounce, reject association and cancel alliance with spirits, acts, places and people in the past or present; verbally and get delivered from their influence. Normally, Christians focus on the first part “ God hates divorce” what about the second part? Physical, Emotional and Psychological Violence? Please understand me, I respect the sanctity of God ordained marriage, but is the sanctity of marital vow above the sanctity of human life? There are things like Adultery (Pornography, Internet Sex etc, the etymology of the Pornography “pornea” is prostitution). Abuse, Addictions, Hardness of heart, Backsliding (living like an unbeliever), Deception etc; that desecrate the human body which is the temple of God and my believe is when such a thing happens it desecrates the sanctity of the vow.
However, The Father of Mercy has given us His heart of mercy to forgive and show compassion to those who offend us as He continuously show us. We are weak fallen beings, no sin is greater than the other and we have the same propensity to do the same as the offender. It is only by the grace of God that we are what we are. Therefore if the offender is willing to acknowledge his pathological sinful behavior, humble himself/ herself, ask for forgiveness, repent (“metanoi” means a “U Turn”, change of heart, thinking, attitude and behavior). The offender seriously reconciling with God first because it is Him that He has sinned against (Remember David and Bestheba? Psalm 51)
Never allow anybody to counsel you to stay in abuse because it is sinful and you the abused are partaking of the sin by staying in it. That is not what The Bible says sisters! Please we are not talking about rebellion and easy way out here, but a precious life made in the image of God in danger! The struggles in a marriage could be part of the sanctification process, but that is not what we are talking about here.

Sexual Orientation: Our sexual identity, male or female was oriented in Heaven before God sent us here on earth. But the truth is, today both Christians and non-Christians struggle with homosexualism, lesbianism and other sexual issues. It is our principle never to turn any human being created in the image of God away because of their sexual orientation. We hope to demonstrate the love and compassion of Jesus to all who seek help from us. Jesus Himself was labeled as the "friend of sinners". How can we refuse to do likewise if we claim to represent Him? From my perspective, since the church is silent on sexual topics ( no more preaching on holiness) the devil has made it his agenda to defile the Body ( which is not ours, but Christ’s very Body) first through the eye gate, then the soul and lastly the spirit. Some Christians get their sexual education from the world. Christians today do not even know what is proper God ordained marital sex. To some "so far as we are married anything goes". No, that is not true! There is a God ordained marital sex that He Himself designed according to our anatomical functions.
A lot sexual interaction among Christians are ungodly improper acts learned from the media and the pornographic industry which defile the spirit, soul and body. Even some so called Christian psychologist and counselors say some ungodly sexual acts are OK. Sexual acts such as masturbation, fantasy, sodomy and oral sex. God did not create the human mouth as sexual organ for intercourse, the mouth cannot praise God and be used for sex.
Friend, you are inviting sexual demons to your marital bed if you practice any these ungodly sexual acts. These are ungodly sexual acts that were practiced among pagans by temple prostitutes in the past in the temples of goddesses like Diana and Asherah. Those demons still continue to teach their diabolical sexual doctrines through Hollywood, the Media, the Fashion, and Pornographic and Sex industry. And since the church is silent over sexual issues many Christians enter into marriage already indoctrinated in this ungodly sexual knowledge from the devil’s sexual seminary. Nakedness is powerfully tool for bonding; therefore the devil is taking advantage of it. Do you know due to the over saturation of sexual images in the media and fashion which is sexual exhibinism couples are subconsciously loosing attraction towards each other?
The silence over sexual issues in the church is breeding lot of problems. Among them are marital conflicts, silence over unhealed sexual abuse from the past, sexual abuse in the family, incest, painful sex, sex on demand, increased/decreased desire, staleness, stress killing sex drive, too busy to enjoy sex, lack of sexual pleasure, pornography, fantasy, improper and ungodly sexual acts a spouse is not comfortable with, past adultery, sexual etiquettes, filthy language, pornography, sodomy, masturbation, oral sex and many others.
The psycho -emotional-spiritual conflicts underlying these sexual issues do a great damage to the soul and marriage, issues such as shame, guilt, poor self image, self hatred, unforgiveness, eating disorders, self destruction, suicide, anxiety, depression, fear sexual intimacy, sexual dysfunction to mention a few. Married people do not allow the devil to steal the joy of celebration of the God ordained marital sex. Sexual union within marriage is God's idea!!!! Celebrate it in a godly clean way!! Most likely when the sexual intimacy is good the marriage will be good!

But the secrecy of it continues to give the devil room to cause discord in God ordained sexual unions. God cares about every area of your life including the joy of God ordained marital sex.
Our children must be educated about sex and sexuality at the proper age in a godly way so as not to fall in the trap sexual perversion and promiscuity that the media and the culture is preaching to them. It is shocking to know many parents, preachers and church leaders do not feel comfortable talking about this precious gift of God. Support Group For Pastoral Counselors/Psychotherapists/Counselors/Psychologists /Social Workers/Mental Health Clinicians in NJ, NY, PA, CT and DE Area: The therapist/pastor ministers to people for many hours a week but who ministers to the minister or therapist? How often do therapists go for therapy? The counseling ministry can be demanding at times and it can take a toll on family and the mental health of the therapist himself/herself. We are therefore planning to organize regular meetings for therapist to get together to support one another, share experiences, mentor, network and seek their own assistance from comrades in this field. Training of Lay-Counselors and Pastors: We train lay counselors to help their pastors with pastoral counseling issues. Pastoral counseling goes beyond quoting scriptures to a soul in distress. We are Spirit, Soul and Body. Both Christians and non-Christians suffer mental and emotional diseases, which must be treated by an expert just as a medical doctor treats diseases that affect the body. Christians must know that psychological depression is a soul disease different from 'everyday blues'. Good Psychology helps to alleviate the distress to some extent but only Christ can heal completely a damaged emotion and a diseased mind, not a psychological expert. We help to equip pastors and lay counselors with skills to foster counseling discipleship programs in a biblical community rather than, quick fix, denial and conformity in the church today. This belief system has contributed a lot to mental and emotional problems in the church today.

Church Counseling: We do on sight church counseling at a pastor's request. If you a pastor and you need assistance in counseling your church members on issues as depression, anxiety, abuse, premarital , marital and family counseling, divorce, remarriage, parenting and others; we will be willing to come to your church to counsel members who are struggling . We understand that some pastors are overwhelmed with a great deal of demands for counseling on complex issues but they do not have the expertise or time to deal with them. We are here to help you in this pastoral care. We also organize group-counseling sessions at the church for members struggling with diverse issues.

INSURANCE PAYMENT: Insurance payment is the usual customary therapist rate and it is different from the above. We work in with the above-reduced scale to help clients paying out of pocket and those who may need sliding scale.

Our out of pocket fee is very reasonable (almost half of the normal price of today's psychotherapy which rages from $150 to $275 per hour) We prefer out of pocket payment but we also do take Insurance payment on out of Network Basis.

It is worth it! Our fee is relatively low compared to other counseling agencies, this ministry of healing to the body of Christ but somehow the bills have to be paid.
Appointments: Please be sure that you are ready to be committed to this healing process before we calling for the appointment. Appointments can be made by phone or email. We advise that you make the counseling process your priority, because this is crucial life changing event in your life. You will be responsible for the payment of all missed appointments.

Please it is very important to keep the scheduled time. Remember, your session begins at the scheduled time. If you are late, we can only use the time left for your session.
If you need to cancel please do so as soon as possible. This must be done 48 hours before the appointment otherwise you will have to pay the full amount for the session. That time slot has been exclusively reserved for you alone.
No childcare is provided: Please, I plead with you not to bring children to sessions. The counseling just become a baby-sitting session and unfruitful. Please try to find a baby sitter, or cancel the appointment and pay for the session. Counseling environment where confidential issues discussed, are not healthy for children; unless they are part of the therapy process.
Nature of Counseling: Each appointment is 45 to 50 minutes. We do brief counseling, which may be 6 to 12 sessions, however some cases may last longer.
COUNSELING FOR OUT OF STATE RESIDENTS: If you live out of state (far from the Tri state area) and would like to come for counseling, deliverance and healing we will arrange something for you. There are motels/hotels at reasonable prices in the area. You can come for a week or weekend intensive sessions. Believe me, you will go back knowing that The Lord has met you and the trip will be worthwhile. Once again, the truth is, no amount of money spent in good biblical counseling can be compared to the joy of healing and deliverance from a long standing soul disease or conflictual marital relationship. PHONE, EMAIL AND ONLINE COUNSELING: We sometimes offer Phone and Online Counseling. We advise such method only when one cannot meet with us in person. Should one choose to use the Internet or the phone, please note that this is a counseling session and is very different from chat room conversation or friendly phone conversation. And as such it is very important that one must secure his/her own privacy and confidentiality at their location before and during counseling session and because of confidentiality, such sessions must be free from interruptions. Please talk from a place where you can be completely alone and uninterrupted. Please we advise you not to drive while conducting an individual phone counseling. This is the responsibility of the client.
This is important counseling session, which involves spirit, soul and body, and we attach equal care, importance and abide by the counseling code of ethics. We advice the counselee to make the counseling process a priority because this a crucial life changing process. The same applies to the phone counseling.
We ask for a reasonable fee. Additional tax-deductible contribution could be made to help the hurting and the harvest of souls in poor countries.
Prepay by check or Money Order: We require that the check, Consent Form and Personal Information Form must be mailed to us before the counseling session.
Each appointment is 30 to 45 minutes. Additional time could be secured by paying in advance.
